What You'll Do:
As a Foam Assembler, you will help manufacture custom foam inserts and cushioning solutions that ensure Pelican products deliver exceptional protection and performance. This hands-on role combines fabrication, assembly, machine operation, and quality inspection in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Read and follow part drawings, Bills of Materials, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Layout, assemble, and construct foam sub-components and inserts for both new and repeat customer requirements.
- Maximize material utilization while supporting efficient production processes.
- Operate fabrication equipment including vertical, horizontal, and profile saws, die cutting presses, glue applicators, and Water Jet equipment.
- Select materials and cut foam stock to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Access production files through the company network and operate Water Jet equipment to produce precision foam components.
- Adjust machine settings and operating parameters based on foam specifications and production requirements.
- Inspect foam components and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform gluing and lamination operations to assemble finished foam products.
- Identify and communicate equipment, material, or program issues to leadership as needed.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production experience.
- Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Experience working with fabrication equipment, cutting tools, or manufacturing machinery is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new equipment and processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with hot melt gluing applications is preferred.
- Experience operating Water Jets, saws, die cutting equipment, or similar manufacturing equipment is a plus.
