What to Expect
You willlead on-sitedue diligenceand Property ConditionAssessmentsofexistingcommercialbuildingswith a focus on HVAC and power distribution, allacrossNorth America.The FieldEngineerwillproduceclear technical reports that define Tenant Improvement scope, risks, and order-of-magnitude cost drivers for all the projects within the Infrastructure Development team.This position requires an experienced andcompetentindividual witha highlevel of ownershipand travel up to 75%.
What You'll Do
- Perform Property Condition Assessments, Engineering Duediligenceand survey of MEP systems in existing commercial buildings.This includesevaluatingthe health of existing HVAC systems,identifyingelectrical power distributions, andevaluatingequipment conditions
- Identifydeficiencies, code compliance gaps, maintenance issues,order of magnitude costs, riskdriversand scope definition, then translate findings into clear field reports
- Executefield investigations, visual inspections,diagnostictesting, photodocumentation,andverify maintenance records
- Show understanding ofoperatingprocedures for mechanical facilities equipmentincluding,hydronicssystems, pumps, heat exchangers, chillers,boilersand dehumidifiers
- Troubleshoot MEP problems in active, fully operational facilities
- Collaborate withinternalandexternalteamsdailyincludingEngineering,Design,Real Estate,Construction,AoR/EoR,andFacilities
- Cross-trainwith structural/civil fieldengineers.ShareMEPdue diligencepractices andprogressivelylearn to support otherbuildinginfrastructureassessments
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,orequivalentexperience
- 2-5 years offieldexperienceassessing existing commercialHVACandelectrical/power distribution systems
- Demonstrated experience producingtechnical field reportsincluding butnot limited toPCA, due diligence,survey of existingequipment, deficiencyreports)
- Familiaritywithrelevant codesandstandards(IMC/UMC,IPC/UPC,NEC, ASHRAE,NFPA);ASTM E2018preferred
- Clear writtenand verbalcommunication,abilityto explainfindings to technical andnon-technicalstakeholders
- Interest in growing beyond asingle discipline: Willingness to learnanddevelopcompetenceinstructural/civil assessments and coach others
- Thisposition requirestravelingup to 75%with a valid driver's license
