Summary: This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Sleep Lab, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic and therapeutic sleep services. The role provides direct functional leadership and guidance to Polysomnographic Technicians and Technologists, supporting staff performance, workflow coordination, and adherence to clinical and regulatory standards.
The Sleep Lab Supervisor serves as a key resource for the team, promoting efficient lab operations, optimizing scheduling and patient throughput, and addressing operational challenges to maintain a seamless patient experience. This position works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and leadership to drive quality outcomes, support continuous process improvement, and ensure the Sleep Lab operates effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
Perform all responsibilities of a Polysomnographic Technologist while providing day-to-day operational oversight of the Sleep Lab. Supervise Sleep Lab staff, including scheduling, performance management, coaching, evaluations, corrective action, and staff development. Ensure compliance with departmental policies, quality standards, infection prevention practices, safety requirements, and regulatory/accreditation standards, including AASM and Joint Commission guidelines. Partner with Sleep Lab leadership to ensure efficient daily operations, exceptional patient care, service excellence, productivity, and financial accountability. Coordinate and support staff education, onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing professional development, while serving as a clinical and operational resource to physicians, nursing staff, technologists, and administrators. Lead accreditation readiness efforts by conducting audits, monitoring compliance, and providing education related to AASM accreditation and Joint Commission standards. Collaborate with Human Resources and department leadership on recruitment, interviewing, hiring, employee relations, accountability, and performance management processes. Assist with departmental budgeting, operational planning, and performance improvement initiatives. Foster effective communication and collaboration within the department, across regional locations, and with interdisciplinary teams and professional organizations. Assume the responsibilities of the Polysomnography Manager in their absence. Demonstrate strong leadership skills, including delegation, team building, conflict resolution, accountability, staff engagement, and problem-solving. Successfully complete required leadership development programs, including Crucial Conversations and Crucial Accountability training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist. Current registration as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist - Sleep Disorders Specialty (RRT-SDS/SPS) required.
