Job Summary

The Architectural Technical Specialist is responsible for managing architectural and engineering documentation, drawings, and space management data across a diverse real estate portfolio. This role supports design, construction, facilities, and operations teams by maintaining accurate digital and physical drawing records, coordinating document distribution, ensuring compliance with drafting standards, and assisting with small-scale design and construction projects. The position requires strong technical expertise in architectural documentation, computer-aided design software, and facilities management systems, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities



  • Organize and maintain architectural and engineering document libraries in both digital and hard-copy formats.
  • Coordinate with project managers to distribute background drawings and project documentation to architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Review and verify incoming CAD documents to ensure compliance with established layering and drafting standards.
  • Manage third-party drawing management systems and document control software.
  • Coordinate the distribution of construction documents to project stakeholders and specialty trade partners.
  • Maintain and update redline and as-built drawings using internal resources or external design consultants.
  • Update and manage drawing records within facilities and space management systems.
  • Provide dimensioned plans, elevations, and related drawing packages to support operational and event planning needs.
  • Perform data entry, space management updates, and drawing maintenance activities.
  • Scan, archive, and organize hard-copy documents within digital document management systems.
  • Update and maintain site, campus, and facility maps.
  • Respond to drawing and documentation requests from internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Prepare pricing, design, and construction documents for small in-house projects.
  • Conduct field verifications and site surveys to validate existing conditions and update as-built documentation.
  • Develop and maintain CAD standards, drafting standards, detailing standards, and space planning standards.
  • Create and maintain building signage standards and documentation.
  • Support facilities, design, construction, and operational teams with technical documentation and drawing-related requests.


Job Requirements



  • Architectural, engineering, construction, or related technical background.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, drafting standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing document control systems, drawing databases, or facilities management software.
  • Ability to conduct field verification and accurately document existing conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.


Education



  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.


Work Experience



  • Experience supporting architectural, engineering, construction, facilities, or property management functions.
  • Experience managing construction documents, technical drawings, and document control processes.
  • Previous experience in entertainment, facilities management, corporate real estate, or property management environments is preferred.
  • Experience with space management systems and CAD-based facilities documentation is preferred.
  • Experience producing 3D renderings is a plus.
