Job Summary

The Telecommunications Specialist II (Data) is responsible for providing design coordination, project management support, and technical oversight for communications and security systems projects. This role combines field and office responsibilities, supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of data communications networks and electronic security systems. The position requires collaboration with design teams, maintenance personnel, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with established engineering and project management standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide design coordination and project management support for communications and security system projects.
• Assist with the coordination and review of design documents and related project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and technical reports.
• Support communications network and communications application projects within the design management function.
• Coordinate design activities with engineering disciplines, maintenance divisions, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and support adherence to established project management procedures and guidelines.
• Identify, track, and assist in resolving technical design issues.
• Prepare and maintain project records, reports, and contract-related documentation.
• Support planning, implementation, and coordination of communications and security system initiatives.
• Participate in field activities and site inspections as required.
• Provide technical and administrative support throughout project lifecycles.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Three to five years of experience in software engineering design, data communications or network communications systems design, electronic security systems design, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of engineering processes, methodologies, and industry practices.
• Experience performing analytical, operational, technical, or administrative duties.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, technical documentation, and project-related materials.
• Ability to coordinate activities across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering preferred.

Work Experience

• Three to five years of experience in software engineering design, data communications/network communications systems design, electronic security systems design, or a related technical environment.
