Job Summary

We are hiring an Audio Visual Technician I to support the installation of commercial AV systems in a variety of environments, including corporate offices, retail locations, educational facilities, industrial sites, and healthcare settings throughout the Denver Metro area, with occasional travel to surrounding project locations. This hands-on role involves installing displays, projectors, speakers, sound systems, mounts, hardware, and low-voltage cabling while following project specifications, blueprints, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of commercial AV installation experience and familiarity with leading AV technologies and platforms. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term career growth, ongoing training, and exposure to a wide range of commercial AV projects.

A typical day begins at approximately 7:00 AM on a commercial job site. Responsibilities include installing AV equipment, mounting hardware, running and terminating low-voltage cabling, organizing and labeling cable pathways, reviewing project drawings, and collaborating with team members to ensure systems are installed according to specifications. Technicians work in active construction and renovation environments while maintaining professionalism, safety compliance, and quality workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities




  • Install commercial AV systems including projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, sound masking systems, and related equipment.



  • Mount displays, projectors, speakers, wireless microphone systems, and associated hardware on various wall and ceiling surfaces.



  • Install, route, dress, label, and terminate low-voltage AV cabling including 18/2, coaxial, CAT5e, and CAT6 cable.



  • Terminate and test RG6, HD-SDI, SDI, XLR, RCA, and other AV connectivity standards.



  • Install cable pathways including J-hooks, D-rings, and other cable support infrastructure.



  • Route cabling between telecommunications rooms, AV equipment racks, displays, projectors, speakers, and endpoint devices.



  • Perform cable management and maintain organized installations that meet project standards.



  • Read and interpret blueprints, installation drawings, and project documentation.



  • Assist with system installation and integration activities under the direction of senior technicians and project leads.



  • Maintain clear and professional communication with team members, project stakeholders, and management.



  • Follow OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and proper PPE procedures.



  • Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout all phases of installation.



  • Travel to local project sites throughout the Denver Metro area and occasionally to nearby regional locations.




Job Requirements




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.



  • Minimum 1-3 years of commercial Audio Visual installation experience.



  • Experience working in commercial environments such as corporate offices, retail facilities, educational institutions, industrial sites, healthcare facilities, or similar settings.



  • Working knowledge of commercial AV technologies and manufacturers including Crestron, Extron, QSC (Q-SYS), Biamp, and Dante.



  • Ability to install, terminate, and troubleshoot low-voltage AV cabling.



  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, installation drawings, and project documentation.



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.



  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments.



  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.



  • Ability to work on ladders, scissor lifts, and in confined spaces when required.



  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.



  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods throughout the workday.



  • Availability to work a schedule beginning at approximately 7:00 AM with an expected workload of 40-45 hours per week.



  • Possession of basic hand tools including screwdrivers, tape measure, snips, pliers, cable strippers, crimpers, punch-down tools, flashlight, tool pouch, gloves, and approved work boots.
