Description

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in authorization processing and working knowledge of various medical insurance plans to support Burbank Dermatology. This role is primarily focused on insurance authorization processing and serves as back-up support for surgical coordination. The position plays a key role in ensuring timely approvals and supporting smooth surgical operations for a multi-specialty clinic. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Process and track insurance verifications and obtain required prior authorizations
  • Communicate with insurance providers to ensure timely approval and resolve authorization-related issues
  • Serve as a resource to patients regarding insurance coverage and requirements
  • Provide back-up support for coordinating and scheduling patient surgical procedures
  • Assist with scheduling pre-operative testing and related appointments as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and external facilities to support efficient workflow
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth daily operation

Pay Range: $30.36 - $43.49 hourly
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have strong background in authorizations, referral coordination, and direct collaboration with providers, ideally gained within a fast-paced medical setting, who can effectively navigate complex clinical environment.

Required:

  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain and productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health
  • Ability to provide coverage for Community Clinics as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows
  • Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and it services and programs.
  • Knowledge of hospital computer system, and personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs
