As the main point of contact for applicants for the Center for Nursing Education (CNE), the Admissions Officer will provide high quality customer service by resolving inquiries, consulting prospective students on admission requirements, processing applications, and making initial recommendations about qualifications. The Admissions Officer will review applications, conduct campus tours, recommend changes to the admission process, process paperwork for accepted students, update and maintain student database, refer students for specific information, and guide students through the application and acceptance process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, Student Services, Business, or related field EXPERIENCE: 1. Three (3) years' experience in higher education PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. BLS Certification from American Heart Association EXPERIENCE: 1. Nursing program experience or admissions experience CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Serve as the primary liaison for prospective students, providing information about admission requirements, program offerings, and application procedures. 2. Disseminate essential information to prospective and current students regarding admission policies, curriculum updates, and program offerings. 3. Work closely with the financial aid counselor and enrollment manager to streamline administrative processes, ensuring efficient and timely processing of student paperwork. 4. Maintain knowledge of admission policies and current curriculum and present them to prospective students. 5. Chair the Admission Committee and provide committee with accurate applicant and readmission information. 6. Draft admission and enrollment-related policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with institutional guidelines and best practices. 7. Ensure that student records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible for reference and reporting purposes. 8. Plan, coordinate, and execute recruitment events, including information sessions, open houses, campus tours, and admitted student days including on evenings and weekends. 9. Maintain and update student database with accurate and current information. 10. Partner with the Director of Student Services and Nursing Program Director to communicate necessary student information and provide updates 11. Process paperwork for accepted students, including enrollment forms, financial aid documents, and other necessary paperwork. 12. Make initial recommendations regarding applicant qualifications and suitability for CNE programs. 13. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to recommend improvements to the admission process, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. 14. Conduct campus tours for prospective students, showcasing the facilities and answering any questions they may have. 15. Monitor and track expenses related to admission activities, including but not limited to recruitment events, marketing materials, and travel expenses. 16. Ensure expenditures align with approved budget allocations and make recommendations for adjustments as needed. 17. Liaise with vendors and service providers to obtain quotes and negotiate contracts for services related to admission, such as advertising, printing, and event management. 18. Present financial reports to relevant stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations for budget optimization. 19. Generate reports and analyze data related to admission trends, applicant demographics, and enrollment projections to inform strategic decision-making and recruitment efforts. 20. Make independent admission decisions and recommendations based on the evaluation of application materials and alignment with institutional admission policies and enrollment goals.
