WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

Provide for the delivery and return of blood products and materials to internal and external customers. Comply with safety policies and procedures in the work area and use applicable protective equipment at all times to prevent exposure to potentially infectious blood and body fluids.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Transporting equipment between hospitals and facilities
  • Driving an equipment van with a lift system and loading/unloading equipment
  • Coordinating and documenting Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Working with vendors to schedule PM services
  • Receiving/unloading supply shipments and organizing inventory
  • Monitoring supplies for expiration dates and general inventory management
  • Fleet management and servicing coordination for vehicles

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High School or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of related experience preferred. Previous experience with a messenger service or trucking company desired.
  • Legible penmanship and the ability to read and write at a high school level are required. Ability to work on a team. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean DMV record.
  • A minimum height of 60 inches is required to ensure safe operation of a cargo van or large truck.
  • Travel around the local area 100%.

Physical Requirements: The duties outlined below represent the essential functions of the position. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving routes. May load or unload trucks and lift, pull, push, and move objects of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to drive throughout the region. Work under pressure and within time standards. Required to wear protective clothing when there is exposure to blood and blood products, and/or when the work location requires.
