Job Description: Senior Director, Invoice to Cash

The Senior Director, Invoice to Cash will be responsible for overseeing global Billing, Cash Application, and Collections (Invoice-to-Cash) operations. This role involves designing, standardizing, and optimizing the end-to-end global process across multiple regions and countries.
As the strategic owner, you will drive transformation, governance, and process excellence in partnership with Sales, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Technology teams. The goal is to ensure a best-in-class operation that is efficient, compliant, and scalable. The initial focus will be on North American and UK markets before expanding to remaining global operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the global strategy, vision, and roadmap for Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) processes, aligning with business and finance goals.
  • Shape enterprise-wide strategies for revenue optimization and operational excellence.
  • Drive working capital and cost optimization initiatives to deliver measurable improvements in global cash flow and revenue assurance.
  • Establish global process governance, including policies, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with regional laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant transaction processing across multiple geographies.
  • Enhance customer experience by addressing inquiries clearly and efficiently through an effective issue resolution model.
  • Foster a culture of process discipline and accountability for quality, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit standards.

  • Lead a high-performing global team of approximately 30 professionals, including senior managers across multiple regions.
  • Provide strategic oversight for approximately 130 matrixed professionals within global shared services centers to drive accountability and innovation.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align I2C strategy with corporate growth objectives.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.

  • Manage strategic relationships with third-party vendors supporting the I2C process; ensure contract compliance and service optimization.
  • Act as the key liaison between I2C teams and business stakeholders to align process goals with business needs.
  • Oversee audits, compliance checks, and risk mitigation efforts.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process reengineering, automation (AI/RPA), and efficiency enhancements.
  • Lead the transformation of I2C tools and technologies to reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance to enhance system capabilities, integration, and data accuracy.
  • Define, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), addressing underperformance through root cause analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA Preferred.
  • Experience: 15+ years of total experience, with at least 8+ years in a global Invoice-to-Cash leadership role within a Shared Services environment. Order-to-Cash operations experience within the Services industry preferred.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the end-to-end I2C process (billing, collections, credit, cash application, and dispute management).

  • Systems: Strong understanding of ERP and automation platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, HighRadius, or similar). Hands-on experience with AI, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), and advanced digital transformation tools preferred.

  • Leadership: Proven experience leading process standardization and global system implementations in large, matrixed multinational organizations.
  • Skills: Strategic thinker with exceptional stakeholder management, influencing skills, and executive presentation abilities.
