Responsibilities

    The individual must work responsibly and respectfully, provide leadership to the team, and grow potential business in the region
  • Identify, recruit, and train survey field and office technical associates in proper surveying methodologies
  • Coordination with crews and technicians to establish project responsibilities and priorities
  • Coordination with other discipline leads (including SUE and Remote Sensing) on scheduling objectives and project milestones
  • A complete understanding of how to manage a quality control program and follow established policies and procedures is necessary
  • Strong communication skills and a thorough understanding for determining priorities as delivered by various clients will be required
  • Expected continuous improvement of project workflows, creating efficiencies through innovation and technology is a plus and having a good understanding of business will be required


Qualifications

  • Registration in good standing as an Indiana Professional Land Surveyor is required - licensure in adjoining states, including Illinois and Ohio, or the ability to gain licensure is greatly preferred.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geomatics or equivalent and 5 years of post-licensure experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years managing/surveying infrastructure projects supporting state and local government agencies including Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)
  • Familiarity and experience in using MicroStation is required as it relates to supporting all aspects of INDOT transportation projects is a plus
  • Outstanding communication skills and understanding how to provide overall client/project management is mandatory
  • A professional and courteous approach to management
  • An understanding of project estimating, budgets, and resource management.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
