The Loan Services Processor 1 is accountable for the effective processing of APCI Federal Credit Union (FCU) back-office loan services functions including review of applications for completeness and accuracy, loan check and document processing, vehicle lien and title tracking, and paid loan processing. All transactions and other loan service support functions must be performed in accordance with APCI FCU, NCUA, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. and other relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

The position is a member of the APCI FCU's loan services team and reports to the APCI FCU's Director of Loan Services. The position's responsibilities may also include assisting members with loan and share services questions.

APCI FCU provides financial services to the Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Contractors and Versum Materials plus select Employer groups, and to members of their immediate family and households. The APCI FCU provides a broad range of financial related products and services including mobile banking, remote deposit capture, vehicle loans, refinance mortgage loans, personal loans, MasterCard, savings, checking, share certificates and IRA's. Loan amounts range from $500 to $1,500,000 while individual member deposits range from $5 to over $1,000,000.

While having only a single physical location in Allentown, PA, the APCI FCU's members span over the 50 U.S. states in addition to a small international contingent. Larger member concentrations are located in Pennsylvania, Texas, California, Arizona, and Louisiana. The APCI FCU reaches its members through a variety of channels including internet, mobile app, telephone, outbound calls, and direct mail.

The position is also required to assist with ensuring loan services personnel are acting as a proponent of the APCI FCU while offering appropriate products and services.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable service while ensuring member confidentiality.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and intermediate proficiency with Word and Excel.

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and be part of the Loan Services Team.

  • Symitar and/or Meridian Link experience is preferred but is not required.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of APCI FCU consumer, credit card and real estate loan products and services with ability to clearly explain to members. This also includes demonstrating knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements covering all loan and credit products.

  • Represent APCI FCU in a friendly and professional manner that supports APCI FCU's mission and reputation.

  • Review loan requests or applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance for assignment to a loan officer.

  • Record and satisfy mortgage documents, ensuring timely removal of APCI FCU lien post loan payoff.

  • Review loan packets for completeness, accuracy and compliance while preparing to send for borrower(s) to sign.

  • Maintain confidentiality of member(s) sensitive information.

  • Build and present recommendations which build APCI FCU member value while supporting the APCI FCU's reputation, goals, and mission.

  • Perform other duties and complete projects as assigned by the APCI FCU President/CEO, CFO, CCL, Director of Loan Services or Board of Directors.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • An Associate's degree in business or finance is preferred but is not required.

  • 3 years of loan services or financial institution services experience is preferred but is not required.

  • Credit union experience is preferred but is not required.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent time management are required.

  • A valid driver's license is required.
