Position Overview

This role is a high performing hands-on contributor responsible for executing, strengthening, understanding, explaining, and continuously improving actuarial production processes. Working closely with others, in particular our Appointed Actuary, this role plays a critical part in ensuring production processes run smoothly, results are reliable and understood, and we are continuously providing a greater impact for our stakeholders.

This role is designed for individuals who enjoy working deeply within processes - understanding how data, models, controls, and outputs connect - and who want to build strong operational, technical, and stakeholder-facing skills. This role is NOT just executing tasks; they are actively driving process improvements, building trusted partnerships, and impacting business outcomes.

The scope for this role will be broad and varying, supporting our diverse business across Individual Life, Individual Annuity, Retirement, Group, Affinity, and Assets, primarily for Cash Flow Testing and supporting our Appointed Actuary, but also as a strong independent performer who can be a flex resource across our team as demand and priorities evolve.

  • Identify and deliver on opportunities that lead to impactful outcomes for stakeholders and the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work independently, with strong accuracy, understanding, and consistency across a broad scope.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, helping evolve processes to be more impactful, efficient, resilient, trusted, understood, and well-controlled.

  • Build strong understanding of supported products, models, and purposes, ensuring production work aligns with stakeholder needs across a broad scope.

  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities, delivering on commitments and proactively managing timelines and dependencies.

  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, curiosity, and learning, promoting ideas and insights from hands-on experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute production processes, including data preparation, model runs, result reviews, and downstream analysis and deliverables.

  • Perform baseline testing and ongoing validations to support confidence in production outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, testware, and supporting tools that lead to confidence, strong understanding, and explainability.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve production issues, inefficiencies, and other opportunities, working with stakeholders and partners as needed.

  • Drive alignment with actuarial governance policies, controls, and best practices.

  • Partner across teams to ensure clear handoffs and shared understanding, while proactively addressing emerging issues, dependencies, or changes impacting production.

  • Seek out and contribute to opportunities beyond immediate scope that support broader team and partner objectives as well as personal growth.

Qualifications

If these responsibilities sound exciting but you don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, take ownership, and grow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation, or equivalent credentials or experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience supporting complex actuarial, financial, or data-driven production processes.
