About the Role

You'll own end-to-end design execution for our communications team. This means taking customer-facing and internal comms from concept through final delivery-no handoffs, just you driving it forward. You'll work closely with Product and Engineering to design how we talk to customers across touchpoints, manage iteration within our design system, and make sure everything we ship is clear, accessible, and on-brand. You'll also surface risks and insights upstream when you spot consistency issues or experience gaps, and help us continuously improve how our team works together.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver polished comms designs from concept to completion across multiple channels
  • Manage design iteration while staying within our established design guardrails and system
  • Partner day-to-day with Product and Engineering to align messaging and design
  • Apply and reinforce design direction, standards, and design system principles
  • Maintain the design system and suggest improvements based on what you learn in execution
  • Suggest process improvements and smarter ways for the team to work together
  • QA edge cases and catch details others miss
  • Balance design, copywriting, and information architecture to create coherent communication experiences

What We're Looking For

Top Priorities (Must-Have):

  1. Communication Design, especially email - 4+ years of dedicated experience. You know email rendering quirks, cross-client consistency, and how to design experiences that work across inboxes. You've shipped real campaigns or notification systems at scale.
  2. Information Architecture - You structure messaging flows and decision paths so users understand what to do. You think about hierarchy, scanability, and information priority. This isn't just UI-it's about how information is organized.
  3. Copywriting - You can write. Not just as a collaborator, but as someone who understands grammar, editing, voice, and how to simplify complex ideas into customer-friendly language. You have a critical eye for clarity and concision.

Required:

  • Portfolio links showing end-to-end communication design projects (must include email or notification design)
  • Strong written English: grammar, editing, and the ability to distill complex ideas into plain language
  • A critical eye for design and written detail across all touchpoints
  • Experience with information hierarchy for short-form messaging
  • Understanding of accessibility principles for readable, usable written experiences
  • Figma expertise (or comparable design software)
  • Dyspatch experience or comparable email template management software
  • Knowledge of common email client rendering engines
  • Strong collaboration skills-you actually want to partner with Product, Engineering, and business partners

Nice to Have:

  • 2+ years of UX design experience (information architecture, prototyping, testing)
  • Experience with journey mapping and notification/follow-up flows
  • Conversation design or voice design, especially for AI applications
  • Design systems maintenance and pattern reuse expertise
