Overview NaphCare is hiring a PRN Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at the Washoe County Jail in Reno, Nevada. This PRN opportunity offers competitive pay of $53.35/hr, providing experienced nurses with the flexibility to pick up shifts while earning additional income and expanding their leadership experience in a unique clinical setting. As a Correctional Charge RN, you will serve as a clinical leader, partnering with correctional staff and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care within a secure environment. In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, assist with complex patient care needs, and help ensure continuity of care for an underserved population. This position is ideal for experienced nurses who are confident in their clinical judgment, enjoy leadership responsibilities, and are looking for a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. Responsibilities The Charge Registered Nurse coordinates shift activities and performs a wide range of duties, including assessing patients, administering medications, managing emergencies, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
Performing initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals
Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications
Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
