The US Oncology Network is looking for an IT Operations Analyst Summer Intern to support The Woodlands, Texas location. This is a full-time summer internship with a schedule of M - F, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

What does the IT Operations Analyst Summer Intern position do?

The IT Operations Analyst Summer Intern assists with day-to-day computer support operations, including basic troubleshooting, device setup, equipment preparation, and hardware/software installation. This role supports the IT team by helping answer support requests, document incidents, prepare devices for deployment, and assist with inventory receiving and shipping activities. The intern will gain exposure to end-user support, PC imaging, and IT service processes while learning company standards and best practices. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Assist with first-level IT support by answering end-user calls and tickets, troubleshooting and resolving routine issues with computers, printers, copiers, and common software; escalate more complex issues as needed.
  • Provide basic system maintenance support to help optimize PC performance, including disk checks, defragmentation and end-user email assistance.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices, and standard business applications.
  • Document and track end-user issues, network issues, service requests, vendor communications, hardware/software orders and support activities, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Support user account administration by assisting with setup or deactivation of user IDs in practice management system and submitting requests to the corporate office in file server and email access.
  • Assist with PC set-up, including imaging computers, installing software, and preparing devices for deployment.
  • Receive, process, and ship desktops, laptops, and accessories; help maintain inventory organization and asset tracking records.
  • Assist with PC refresh initiatives, including supporting device upgrades and replacements, coordinating basic user migrations to new equipment, and helping ensure systems meet security and compliance requirements for audit readiness
  • Collaborate with IT team members on day-to-day operations, maintenance activities, and ongoing support needs.
  • Help maintain documentation, process updates, and participate in team projects and other assigned learning opportunities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Previous computer network experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of Windows computers, Microsoft Office, mobile devices, and common workplace software applications.
  • Interest in learning about desktop support, device deployment, networking, and IT service operations.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Must have strong communication, excellent customer service, and teamwork skills.
