Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Primary resource for supporting the manufacturing plant in its Lean Transformation through the implementation of the Parker Lean System (PLS) and the development/sustainment of High-Performance Teams (HPTs). Delivers practical, hands-on training and development to associates in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing , and support functions. Measures and reports progress on an ongoing basis using the site's Win Scorecard and site's PLS Lean Journey Assessment. Supports leadership and team members in building an engaged, empowered, and high-performing culture through the HPT framework, promoting team member development, relationship-centered behaviors, and operational excellence.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

Has Direct Reports

Position reports to the Division Lean Manager. Ensures full PLS education and implementation in all functional areas at the plant or facility level to ensure consistency and sustainability. Provides leadership and direction to the Site Staff. Develops and manages the Lean team, where appropriate.

Essential Functions:

Coaches and develops direct reports in the effective execution of their essential functions, ensuring alignment with Parker Lean System (PLS), High Performance Teams (HPTs), and site performance objectives.

Guides all PLS initiatives at the facility. Works with Site leadership on Lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented at the site and supports the execution of Lean transformation initiatives across administrative, manufacturing, and support functions.

Ensures adherence to PLS standards for the Site, Value Stream and Team Improvement Boards, enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey. Where appropriate, supports Plant Lean team members through required and special team meetings.

Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals. Provides practical, hands-on coaching and facilitation in PLS methods and tools to support waste elimination, flow, and continuous improvement throughout the operation.

Ensures that the site organizational structure has been reviewed and that resources are aligned for the Lean Transformation. Supports leadership in developing and sustaining High Performance Teams (HPT) by promoting engagement, empowerment, team member development, and relationship-centered behaviors that drive operational excellence and business results.

Ensures on-going education of all employees at the site in PLS. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment. Supports HPT learning and development through self-paced learning, guided learning, instructor-led workshops, and small group exercises that strengthen team effectiveness and performance.

Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Division Lean Manager. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved to the Division Staff as reported through Parker's Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard. Measures and reports progress on an ongoing basis to ensure visibility to results, sustainment, and continuous improvement opportunities.

Shares "best practice" methods and ideas with Division Lean Manager.

Qualifications:

Minimum four (4) years of successful manufacturing experience with at least two (2) years of direct Lean leadership. Four-year degree required.

A demonstrated understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving and QS9000.

Good understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean/Flow throughput world.

Effective presentation skills to share the success and ideas of the Division.
