Manufacturing Dimensional and Part Qualification Lead

The North America Manufacturing Dimensional and Part Qualification Lead is Manufacturing Quality's technical lead for measurement systems, dimensional controls, and in-plant part qualification across all vehicle components and assembly systems. This role defines and governs Plant Metrology strategy, manufacturing quality laboratories, and qualification processes to ensure product conformity, robust launches, and alignment with design intent. The Dimensional and Part Qualification Lead provides functional leadership to Plant Metrology Managers driving standardization, capability development, and resolution of systemic quality issues impacting customer satisfaction.

They will be responsible to define and standardize metrology strategy and measurement systems across all NA vehicle assembly plants, lead the governance of quality laboratories, and drive benchmarking and implementation of advanced measurement technologies in the manufacturing labs. They will also be responsible to establish and deploy in-plant part qualification process including first part inspections, launch validation measurements, and critical feature verifications linked to PFMEA and Control Plans. They are also responsible for validating root causes with strong focus on measurement system reliability and driving read-across of corrective actions and systemic improvements to all NA vehicle assembly plants.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related degree
  • Minimum 5+ years in manufacturing quality, metrology, or dimensional engineering
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-plant problem-solving activities with limited direction
  • Experience in Metrology systems, Measurement Systems preferred
  • Experience with part qualification and dimensional validation processes
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives
  • Previous experience in Plant Environment
  • Ability to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projects


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Masters Degree
  • Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to coach and teach others
