Torch Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer Specialist to provide resources with knowledge of professional aerospace engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services. Must have experience with development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment. Candidate will have experience in designing, planning, coordinating, executing, and analyzing V&V, test and evaluation programs. Includes developing V&V and T&E strategies and documentation (e.g. SRB, TAB) to V&V armament systems against performance requirements. Verification tasks including analysis of resultant weapons fly-out data to analyze accuracy of M&S results.

Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of aerospace vehicles, systems, equipment, and components

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

As a Test Engineer Specialist, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Designs and develops advanced test programs.

  • May lead the design and development of test plans, safety plans.

  • Writes advanced highly complex test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability.

  • Evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications.

  • Develops advanced highly complex test simulations

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Must have Bachelor's Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, General). Desired: advanced degree or Test Pilot school graduate.

  • Must have Air Force Flight test experience 8-10 years with 5+ years in leading teams and test management. Desired for experience in Fixed Wing/Bomber, and/or weapons integration. Desired for relevant data management experience.

  • Must work well independently and in a team environment.

  • Must have an active TS DoW security clearance.

  • Must be familiar with DoW Acquisition processes or project management professional principles.

  • Must have program office experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Desired experience in munitions handling, loading, storage checkout, transportation, and electronic combat/weapon/aircraft compatibility issues, and statistical methods/DOEs.

  • Long range planning experience 3-5 years.

  • Desired for 10+ years or 5+ years in flight/route/mission planning experience

  • Flight experience as pilot, WSO, NAV, or FTE total of 5+ years military or civilian
