As a Welder I, you will fabricate, repair, and assemble aircraft engine and component parts using GTAW (TIG welding), torch brazing, and other specialized welding processes. You'll work from blueprints and engineering specifications to produce high-quality parts that meet strict aerospace standards for safety, precision, and performance.

What you'll do:

  • Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Participate in continuous improvement of processes
  • Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
  • Observe all applicable safety requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 3 years of welding experience

  • Completion of a welding apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on training

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance for approximately 25% of the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation

Desired Skills:

  • Experience welding thin-gauge materials and exotic metals, including Inconel and Hastelloy

  • Knowledge of tool design, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes

  • Experience working with OEM manuals, welding procedures, rework instructions, and SDS/MSDS requirements

  • Experience using production management systems and other manufacturing control systems

  • Trade certification and/or applicable welding certifications

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
