Job Description:

Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Senior-II Engineer-Validation. A candidate placed in this position will be a technical contributor in the Networking and Connectivity Solutions Validation Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches, USB 3.2 hubs, PCI-Express devices and switches, Automotive Ethernet PHY's, and other connectivity interfaces in excess of 25Gbps.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Responsibilities include:

• Participate in development and execution of validation strategies and test plansaligned with product requirements, technical risk, customer impact, program schedules, and market needs
• Perform labbased validation, including design bringup, characterization, and interoperability testing for highspeed connectivity devices
• Review, analyze, and clearly communicatevalidation results, debug findings, and recommendationsto project and management stakeholders
• Contribute to the specification and design of test environments including software, lab equipment, and test board requirements
• Serve as a crossfunctional validation contributor, collaborating closely with Design, Verification, Applications, Marketing and Product Engineering teams
• Contribute to crossfunctional debug and rootcause discussions along with operating on JIRAbased debug workflows
• Support customer issue reproduction and escalations by collaborating with Applications and Field Engineering teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement of validation processes, metrics, and best practices

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ Years combined experience in one or more of the following:
  • High-Speed Digital design/testing
  • Analog/Mixed-Signal design/testing
  • Systems design/testing
  • Power IC Design and/or Test
• Prior experience working within cross functional teams and projects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to develop hardware design specification based on input from multiple stakeholders and specifications.
• Strong working knowledge of Electronics Lab equipment, e.g., Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer (any protocol)
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in collaborative group environment or independently.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of, and experience with, highspeed connectivity protocols, including, Ethernet, USB (USB 2.0 / USB 3.x), or PCIExpress
• Experience reviewing schematics and layouts forsilicon validation or reference boards
• Pythonbased automation for validation, data analysis, or lab equipment control
• Exposure to IC device characterization and silicon performance analysis
