About the Opportunity

Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to support its McLean, VA headquarters, reporting to the Accounting Manager and playing a key role in month-end close, project accounting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong general ledger experience and knowledge of government contracting (Costpoint preferred), with ownership of unbilled receivables, revenue recognition, financial reporting accuracy, and tax filings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Execute key components of the monthly close process in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with corporate deadlines
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules, including accruals, prepaids, and other standard close activities
  • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Support the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, including financial reporting, variance analysis, and EAC/forecast validation
  • Review client contracts to ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with US GAAP, including fixed price and T&M arrangements
  • Analyze and manage unbilled receivables and bad debt, including variances between revenue, billings, and collectability
  • Partner with department managers and finance teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Coordinate and review financial operations of foreign reporting units
  • Support internal and external audits, as well as tax filings and compliance requirements
  • Participate in process improvements, special projects, and other ad hoc responsibilities as needed


Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting required, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in either public accounting or a combination of public/industry

Required Skills/ Certifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ownership and attention to detail
  • Strong general ledger experience
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint (8.0 or higher) a plus
  • Familiarity of project set-up and organizational structure
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel
