Location: Horseshoe Bay Resort | Lake LBJ, Central Texas Hill Country

J s Restaurant & Bar (Tower) A signature dining outlet offering Texas Hill Country cuisine in a refined yet approachable setting. Known for breakfast, patio dining, and evening service, including house specialties such as Bad Donkey BBQ.

Waterfront Bar & Grill A high-energy lakeside venue featuring indoor and outdoor dining with views of Lake LBJ. Offers fresh seafood, Southern- and Mexican-inspired flavors, craft cocktails, and live music. Accessible by boat, car, or private aircraft.

Whitewater 360 Sports Club: A lively sports bar with 360-degree viewing across 16 TVs. Features a casual menu of wings, pizza, salads, and a broad selection of beer and cocktails.

Slick Rock Grill & Bar, located at the golf clubhouse with scenic course views, this relaxed venue known for classic American fare, including one of the area's top burgers.

Mingo's Cafe A quick-service concept offering convenient options such as pizzas, salads, snacks, and ready-to-drink beverages for guests enjoying resort amenities.

Cafe Del Sol (Poolside Bar) A seasonal poolside venue serving refreshing drinks, light fare, and casual dining options in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Position Summary

The Training Lead, Food & Beverage is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all training programs across restaurants, bars, banquets, and club operations.

This role ensures all team members are equipped to consistently deliver high-quality service aligned with established standards. The position serves as a key link between the Training Department and Food & Beverage leadership to support operational excellence through structured learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Training Program Development and Delivery


  • Deliver classroom and on-the-job training for all Food & Beverage team members
  • Develop and maintain training materials, standard operating procedures, and certification assessments
  • Lead orientation and ongoing training programs focused on service standards
  • Implement cross-training initiatives across multiple positions
  • Conduct safety and compliance training, including food safety and alcohol service


Program Management and Administration


  • Manage the F&B training calendar, including scheduling sessions and certifications
  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and certification tracking
  • Partner with HR and department leaders to ensure completion and compliance


Leadership and Talent Development


  • Identify and develop high-potential team members
  • Coach supervisors and managers on training techniques and performance feedback
  • Support pre-shift meetings and leadership sessions to reinforce service standards


Service Excellence and Operational Support


  • Demonstrate proficiency across key F&B roles and service expectations
  • Conduct service audits and implement follow-up training
  • Partner with culinary and beverage teams on product knowledge training
  • Apply best practices in hospitality training and development
  • Use Microsoft 365 tools to support communication and program tracking


Qualifications
Experience


  • 5+ years of Food & Beverage experience in a full-service or upscale hospitality environment
  • 2 3+ years of training, coaching, or leadership development experience preferred


Certifications


  • TABC (or equivalent) certification required
  • Food Handler certification required


Skills


  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities
  • Spanish language skills preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management


Education

Optional but highly recommended: Hospitality, business, or related degree or coursework preferred.

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Hospitality and Resort Management (preferred)
Associates of Business Administration (preferred)
Some college (preferred)
High School (required)
Experience
2 years: Experience mentoring supervisors or high-potential employees, leading pre-shift meetings, conducting performance coaching, and developing internal talent pipelines for leadership roles. (required)
2 - 3 years: Direct experience designing and delivering training programs, onboarding new hires, facilitating classroom and on-the-job instruction, and developing SOPs and certification programs. (required)
5 years: Experience overseeing front-of-house or full F&B operations in a full-service or luxury environment, including restaurants, bars, and banquets. Demonstrated ability to maintain service standards, manage teams, and support high-volume operations. (required)
