Responsibilities
The housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility. Performs regular cleaning functions in patient occupied and support areas. Ensures that project work such as high dusting, vent cleaning, floor care and windows are maintained appropriately. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Six (6) months of experience of housekeeping field in hospital/clinic preferred. Must have knowledge of operating cleaning devices (mops), vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, wet vacs, etc. Other: Must be able to read, write and communicate the English language. Physical Demands: (See Job Demand Profile attached) RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Director of Operations Supervises: N/A Internal Relationships: All Pavilion staff and physicians External Relationships:Patients and Customers ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Clean and sanitize all patient rooms and support areas assigned. 2. Perform restroom cleaning, damp dusting and floor care to reduce cross contamination. 3. Perform project work in assigned areas such as high dusting, vent cleaning, shampooing, stripping and waxing, window curtains and cubicles, doors and ceiling tracks. 4. Wash walls and ceilings and keep cob webs under control. 5. Remove waste according to infection control standards. 6. Move furniture and equipment as directed. 7. Set up and tear down classrooms and meeting rooms. 8. Ensure equipment is cleaned on a daily basis. 9. Removes infectious waste and confidential material immediately for disposal. 10. Receive, transport and maintain linen levels for all units. 11. Issue work requests for equipment repairs 12. Immediately reports damages and necessary repairs to comply with the EOC 13. Handle medical waste using proper procedures to ensure safety NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Report any equipment repairs to supervisor. 2. Report the need for additional supplies to superior. 3. Projects a positive image of The Pavilion by being courteous, helpful, friendly, and professional in relationships with patients, visitors, and co-workers. 4. Assures compliance with federal, state, and organizational confidentiality regulations. 5. Attends required inservice programs and staff meetings. 6. Attends meetings or training sessions as required. 7. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. 8. Adheres to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. 9. Promotes cost containment through efficient use of equipment, supplies and time. 10. Maintains a safe, pleasant environment for patients/family/significant others and staff. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. | |
