Responsibilities

This position performs, in accordance with established policies and procedures, various activities and duties relative to Patient Account data entry, preparation of data pertinent to and processing of the same.

Employee must have at least a High School Diploma with basic knowledge of book keeping or accounting and prefers at least 1-year billing experience in a healthcare setting. Also, must be proficient in Data Entry keying, billing software preferably HMS. Also, very detailed oriented and well organized.

SKILLS:

  1. 1. Knowledge of all code procedures.
  2. Knowledge of computers and business software, including Excel.
  3. Knowledge of data entry
  4. Knowledge of payment planning and billing techniques.
  5. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.

6 Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

7 Effective oral and written communication skills.

  1. Able to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.
  2. Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  3. Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.
  4. Ability to work as a team player.

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak in simple sentences.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

This position requires viewing a computer screen and data most of the day, keying entries into the software, visually reviewing data and mostly sedentary work. Mostly sedentary work and minimal noise level.
