The Mental Health Technician (MHT) Supervisor is a key member of the Lighthouse Milieu Management Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric therapeutic strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) Supervisor's primary function is to ensure patient safety through staff education and staff culture development. Patients served include adolescents (ages 12-17) and adults (ages 18-65).

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists Nursing management with planning and oversight of the MHT patient care role and overall goal of facilitating the provision of continuous and safe patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patient.
  • Responsible for primary training, preceptorship, and mentorship of the MHTs throughout the facility.
  • Work with the Director ofClinicalServicesto develop MHT Group programming and implementation for all populations.MHT Supervisorwillbe responsible fortraining and accountability of MHT group compliance.
  • Promotes therapeutic environment for patients by following program schedule, rules, and guidelines with minimal supervision.
  • Follows process for contraband procedures and role models for all MHTs.
  • Actively participates in all Code Debriefs, serving as a subject matter expert and follows up with MHTs requiring additional support/training.

Qualifications

Education:High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates/ Bachelors Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Psychiatric Inpatient Setting providing training; or any combination of education, training, or experience in a behavioral health setting.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care (HWC) training, CPR Trainer preferred. Complete the course for certification as Handle with Care/ Verbal De-Escalation Instructor.
