OVERVIEW:

The Kroc Center Program Director role is responsible for all activities, events, and services that take place at the San Francisco Kroc Center. This Director role will manage the day-to-day operations, oversee the master schedule of events and all staffing and volunteer activity. They will be involved in program creation and implementation, as well as be responsible for the consistency and execution of services. Director will be a voice and advocate for meeting needs through Kroc Center services and initiatives in the Tenderloin District and San Francisco City.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Leadership & Operations



  • Oversee all Center programs, including Education Programs, Teen Center, Joan and Sally's, Social Services, and Pathway of Hope
  • Ensure timely tracking and execution of program metrics, goals, surveys, and outcomes
  • Maintain and manage weekly program schedules aligned with strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate major events and activities in collaboration with department leads and Railton Place
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of programs and services


Staff Leadership & Development



  • Provide daily leadership and supervision to program staff
  • Address staff needs, provide coaching, and support professional development
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, and training for new hires
  • Promote a culture of excellence, service, and accountability


Volunteer & Community Engagement



  • Develop and manage volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local agencies, schools, and community organizations
  • Serve as a community liaison under the direction of the Center Director
  • Support community engagement initiatives and outreach efforts


Compliance & Program Management



  • Implement and enforce risk management practices, child safety policies, and organizational procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all Salvation Army policies and standards
  • Collaborate with Child Safety and Volunteer Services teams to maintain program compliance
  • Assist in developing SOPs, policies, and operational manuals
  • Partner with departments to drive mission-based initiatives and core values
  • Other duties as assigned by Corps Officer


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Communication, Administration, Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in recreation, athletic, or community center operations
  • Minimum of 5 years supervising and managing professional staff
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and community partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and scheduling software
  • Knowledge of program management, volunteer coordination, and community engagement strategies


EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, printer)
  • Microsoft Office Suite and program scheduling systems


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods
