Finance Office Assistant - Part-time

Position Dates: Start Date June 29, 2026

Hours: 28 hours maximum per week within the 8am to 5pm timeframe

The accounts payable department is responsible for paying all invoices for the college's three campuses. This position resides in the finance department of the Northampton Community College main campus in Bethlehem and plays an integral role in the effectiveness and efficiency of the department. The position requires daily data entry, strong computer and technical skills-including Microsoft Excel and Word, advanced math skills, competent reasoning and research ability, good customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enter supplier invoices against purchase order into the Workday ERP System
  • Reconcile invoices against purchase orders
  • Research and resolve any invoice discrepancies
  • Email invoices requiring approval to department managers
  • Contact suppliers via phone or email to resolve any issues and answer questions
  • Communicate with internal staff to answer questions and resolve issues
  • Scan invoices to create PDF documents and attach invoices in Workday
  • Retrieve invoices from emails and drag and drop them into Workday
  • Perform general office duties, including greeting suppliers & visitors, answering phones, preparing correspondence electronically, and opening and distributing mail
  • Work closely with the purchasing department in the Finance Office
  • Cross train on other functions to fill-in when other employees are out
  • Assist in purchasing, payroll and other finance areas if needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred.

High School Diploma or GED required.
