The YMCA of Greater Houston's CommunityOutreachProgramDirectorplays a critical role in expanding the YMCAcommunity impact by developing, strengthening, and sustaining partnerships that support long-termcommunity needs andfamilystability. This position oversees the day-to-day coordination of outreach services for the Priority Y andCommunity Impact Service while intentionally cultivating collaborative relationships that enhance program capacity, increase access toresourcesand contribute to program match requirements (in-kind and financial).The Program Director will work closely with community partners, coordinate resources, andPriority Y and Community Impact Servicesneeds andoutcomes to evaluate effectiveness.The Director provides strong program leadership, ensuring programs are aligned with strengthening families and supporting long-term stability while fostering a safeand positive environment that promotes belonging andconnection.With a focus on excellence, the Directorrepresentsthe YMCA with enthusiasm and commitment, driving community impact through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Partnership Development & Community Collaborations:cultivates, strengthens, and manages strategic partnerships with agencies, school districts, nonprofits, faith-based organizations,businessesand funders. Identifiescollaboration opportunities that expand services, enhance programvisibility,or generate match contributions (space, supplies, staffing, volunteer hours,servicesand financial contributions). Represent the YMCAat collaborative meetings, coalitions,and community tables to deepen engagement and advance program outcomes.Ensure timelycommunication, follow-up, and relationship stewardship.
MatchDocumentation & Grant Alignment:tracks, collects and records match contributionsinaccordancewithgrant requirements (in-kind services, partner support, sliding scale differences, volunteer hours, donated space/martials, etc.). Works closely with partners to obtain documentation such as MOUs, value statements,attendancelogs, invoices, orletters of contribution. Ensures she workscollaborativelywith Center Executives and Program Directorsto meet or exceed matchgoalsand that documentation is audit ready.
Family& CommunityEngagement:Develops engagement opportunities in partnership with communitycollaborators, such as food distributions, resource fairs,enrichment programand other needs hub site as identified. Builds andmaintains relationshipwith families through consistent communication including client orientations, newsletters, clientconferencesand clientengagement events.
Marketing &Outreach:Implements targeted marketingstrategies to promote program growth and increase brand exposure within the community,focusing expanding referral pathways. Expands the program in alignment with strategic goals and operationalplans, actively assisting with the distribution of program information and managing client intake and registrations to support continued growthas needed.
Program Compliance: Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.Ensures that YMCA program standards aremetand risk management policies are followed.
Staff Development& Team Leadership: Recruits and trains required program staff and volunteer needed to meet Y staffing ratiosand match documentation requirements. Reviews and evaluates staff performance anddevelopsstrategies to motivate staff to achieve program goalsand deliver high quality services.
Fiscal Management:Adheres to responsible fiscal stewardship, includingmanaging all accounts receivables and accounts payable related to program budgetsand matchrequirement. Manage payroll related transactions and monitors for accuracy and completion. Ensuresprogram operateswithin budget and meets fiscal goals through forecasting and budget monitoring.
Center& CommunityEngagement:Activelyparticipatesin YMCAcenterand Community Impact Serviceactivities, meetings, and stafftrainings. Intentionally collaborates with center program staff. Develop andmaintain good working relationships with the directors, staff, parents and families by way of open communication, positive problem solving, flexibility, and teamwork.
Program Evaluation: Collects necessary qualitative and quantitative data needed tomonitorprogram evaluation and measure program effectiveness. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program and make adjustment to program as needed.
Annual Campaign: Participates in the annual fundraising campaign and committees as assigned at the center and meets staff campaign goals. Supports direct staff in their participation in the annual fundraising campaign.
Project Teams: Participates in project teams related to advancing the strategic vision and goals of the outreach department.
Child Abuse Prevention:Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Followsmandated abuse and incident reporting requirements. Ensures youth are properly signed in and signed out, ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with each child.
