About the Opportunity:

As a Tool Room Fabricator at our Whitesboro, NY facility, you will play a key role in manufacturing precision aerospace components that power flight and global defense applications. You will need to be highly skilled and AS9100-compliant Tool Room professional capable of building, setting up, and troubleshooting multiple dies (including progressive and compound tools) from single-operation part prints. Proven ability to work with all tool room materials to micro-tolerances using precision measuring instruments. Multitask-oriented, safety-focused, and adept at collaborating with design engineering on modifications while mentoring and training fellow toolmakers.

Location: Whitesboro, NY

This is a full-time role that may require some extended hours and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Build Tools (from single operation part prints)
  • Must be able to set up and run multiple machines including Bridgeport's
  • Follow detailed designs producing all dies, including progressive tools, compound, etc.
  • Setting up and troubleshooting all Dies
  • Work with All Tool Room Materials
  • Proficient in running all Tool Room Equipment
  • Detailed design modifications as needed and working with Design Engineering to incorporate
  • Safe operation of all Tool Room equipment
  • Working +/-.0001 and being able to use measuring instruments
  • Willing and capable of training other toolmakers
  • Meeting or beating all time standards
  • Working on many jobs simultaneously
  • Must follow and lead by example on all safety issues
  • Must keep work area neat and orderly
  • Follow all applicable AS9100 procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification: Completed Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship or hold a Journeyman's certificate.
  • Experience: 5+ years in high-volume production; aerospace manufacturing and AS9100/ISO-certified environment experience.
  • Math & Blueprints: Advanced blueprint reading, GD&T, and shop math (including trigonometry for precision machining).
  • Equipment: Proficiency with CNC lathes, mill-turn centers, broaches, grinders, mills, and CMM data.
  • Design: Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software for tooling design.
  • Material Science: Deep understanding of metals, heat-treatment procedures, and material properties.
  • Measurement: Hands-on expertise with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height/bore gauges).
  • Methodologies: Strong commitment to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles.
  • Safety: Strict adherence to OSHA standards, EHS policies, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Collaboration: Excellent cross-functional teamwork with quality, engineering, and maintenance departments.

Working Conditions

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to climb ladder, work on platforms, and climb stairs
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
