Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for an I & C Specialist I to join our Water/Wastewater Group at our Dallas, Texas location. The I&C Specialist I is responsible for utilizing and programing PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects. The I&C Specialist I utilizes AutoCAD to design and develop complex instrument control loops, instrument and electrical installation details, instrument location drawings, motor control schematics, conduit routing, and control panel design. DURING YOUR WORKDAY, YOU WILL:
- Utilize and program PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects.
- Prepare specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, and perform start up and commissioning activities with minimal input from other personnel.
- Understand and implement communications systems such as Ethernet based local area networks and wireless radio systems.
- Create instrument material take-offs from drawings.
- Work closely with Project Managers, project team, and clients to implement solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
- Requires 2 years of I&C design and PLC and SCADA programming experience.
- Must be familiar with system networking, I&C Drawings (loops, cabinet layout/wiring) and P&ID drawings.
- Requires experience with programming PLCs and HMIs, and knowledge of various PLCs and SCADA software.
- Experience troubleshooting problems in operational situations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required.
- The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required.
- Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
- Requires maintaining a level of precision and accuracy appropriate to the project demands.
- Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Managers, Contractors, and Regulators.
- The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying project demands is required.
- Candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record as determined by McKim & Creed.
- Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
