An Echo (Echocardiography) Supervisor manages the daily operations of a cardiac ultrasoundlab. This hybrid clinical-management role bridges the gap between administration and technical staff. Responsibilities include overseeing lab workflow, evaluating staff performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining equipment, and performing complex echo-cardiogramswhen necessary. All other duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operating specialized ultrasound equipment to create images of the heart (Echocardiography) and vascular system (arteries/veins).
  • Preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, and reviewing medical history.
  • Operating ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic exams, such as carotid artery, peripheral vascular, and echocardiograms of the heart chambers and valves.
  • Analyzing images to detect anomalies like blood clots, blockages, or aneurysm, and preparing preliminary reports.
  • Oversee accurate, efficient, safe, high quality, compliant, productive operations of assigned medical practices in accordance with state, federal and local regulations, and requirements.
  • Uphold IPM and UHS policies, goals, and standards.
  • Fosters patient centered environment focused on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
  • Compose practice schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels to carry out efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence and always conveys professionalism and strong motivation to achieve optimum results.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program
  • College level courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology preferred.
  • Professional certification/registry is required. All sonographers must be credentialed as required by ICAEL.
  • ARDMS registry and/or if registry eligible must complete registry within 1 year of employment
  • CCI registry and/or if registry eligible must complete registry within 1 year of employment
  • inimum of 5 years Vascular/Echo Technician experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in providing Vascular and/or Echo procedures in a healthcare environment is required.
