Cable Installer / Data Center Technician (Entry Level) Location: New Albany, OH (On-site) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay: $19-$20/hour + Overtime (1.5x) Shifts: Must be open to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and swing shifts About the Role We are seeking motivated, hands-on Cable Installers / Data Technicians to support large-scale data center projects. This is a great entry-level opportunity to break into the telecommunications and data center industry with strong growth potential. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, problem-solving, and working in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities * Install and decommission structured cabling systems in a data center * Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cables (Cat5, Cat6, fiber, coax) * Perform rack and stack of server cabinets and network equipment * Conduct cable terminations, labeling, and testing * Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams * Install cable pathways including ladder racks, conduits, and fiber troughs * Maintain a clean and safe work environment * Follow all safety standards, codes, and best practices * Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines Required Qualifications * Experience with cable installation, construction, mechanical work, or data centers * Familiarity with basic telecom hand tools (or willingness to learn) * Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, standing for long periods) * Strong work ethic and reliability * Willingness to learn structured cabling, wiring, and testing methods * Ability to work on active construction or data center job sites * Must be open to working any shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or swing shifts) Preferred (Nice-to-Have) * Experience with Cat5/Cat6, fiber optics, or cable pulling * Data center or construction site experience * Knowledge of rack and stack, punch downs, or terminations Work Environment * Fast-paced data center environment * Physically active role * Team-oriented setting with opportunities to develop technical skills Tools & Requirements * Must bring basic tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, snips, measuring tape, etc. * Steel-toe or composite-toe boots required * PPE will be provided (excluding boots and personal tools) Why Apply? * Entry into a high-demand tech/data center industry * Hands-on training and skill development * Career advancement opportunities into higher-level technician roles * Potential for full-time conversion * Access to benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc., when eligible) Additional Details * BGC required * Phone interview process Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.
