About the role

SIM is searching for an experienced Director of CLO Portfolio Analytics and Compliance professional to support the growing CLO Platform, which is managed within the $2.5B Leveraged Loan and High Yield Group. SIM's parent organization has committed significant capital to support the launch and continued growth of the CLO program. The CLO platform is a significant new business line for the firm as it further expands into the management of third-party assets.

This individual will oversee the services we outsource specifically to all broadly syndicated leveraged loan and CLO workflows that a Collateral Manager must perform. Additionally, this individual will provide systems and analytical support to senior management and should be detail-oriented, prepared to work in a fast-paced environment working closely with the Senior CLO Portfolio Manager, Head Trader and Head of Research and the broader credit team with daily deadlines, and have a proven ability to work with external service providers (All Vue, IQEQ, Rating Agencies and Auditors).

This is a hybrid work role based in Farmington Connecticut (2 days per week).

What you will do

  • Perform oversight and governance of all systems, analytics and compliance aspects of the CLO business, including oversight of outsourced services and Trustee relationship management.
  • Manage bank loan trade settlements with the outsourced vendor while ensuring accurate posting of trades on internal systems.
  • Monitor all trades within the CLOs on a pre-settlement basis to ensure compliance with the CLO Indenture requirements.
  • Test and validate new compliance models as per the CLO Indenture; providing feedback to Middle Office Service provider and Trustee as needed.
  • Manage internal/external inquiries and reporting requests, prepare monthly metrics and reporting for senior management review.
  • Work closely with our Middle Office Service provider and Trustees to ensure all trade events, Rating Agency actions, and cash movements are gathered and reconciled for all reporting requirements.
  • Oversee cash and position breaks with trustees and internal/external operational teams.
  • Review Monthly and Quarterly Trustee Reports for accuracy and completeness, supervising the tie-out process to ensure timely delivery.
  • Verify quarterly waterfall calculations to ensure correct distributions.
  • Liaise between investment team and technology vendor to troubleshoot issues and prioritize enhancement requests.
  • Support new fund launches by managing operations from the warehousing stage through Closing Date and Effective Date, including approval of Flow of Funds.
  • Establish proper controls and create efficiencies to mitigate risk and improve processes.

  • Manage strategic projects and initiatives as well as prioritize information technology needs and requirements in the development of an industry-leading CLO platform.

Compensation
Salary Range: $176,000 - $238,000 plus eligibility for annual bonus program and long-term incentive
Who you are

  • 7+ years in CLO Analytics, Compliance and Loan Systems at a buy-side CLO firm, trustee, CLO middle office service provider, or CLO accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the leveraged loan bank loan processing ecosystem.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a self-starter.
  • Ability to implement tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work with external service providers.
