The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC


Responsibilities

In this role, the AUKUS Action Officer will support the Submarine Rotational Forces - West (SRF-W) Phase of the AUKUS Integration and Acquisition Program office. Responsibilities will include 1) Direct support to the SRF-W Director, Deputy Director, and Coordination Lead; 2) Correspondence drafting and formatting; 3) Meeting facilitation and logistics; 4) Coordinating travel and submitting necessary documentation; 5) Documentation and tracking of meeting minutes and action items; 6) Working with international partners to synchronize schedules as applicable, 7) Preparations for trilateral engagements, 8) Capturing and tracking objective quality evidence (OQE) for milestone completion. This position is located at the Washington Navy Yard.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. DC Pay Transparency Range: $120k-170k.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM or Business Administration Discipline
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington, D.C. up to full time, depending upon client needs
  • Experience with the Navy Correspondence Manual
  • 3+ years of experience with executive scheduling, Defense Travel System, and front office support
  • Strong administrative, organizational and analytical skills and the willingness to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Current DoD SECRET clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in STEM or Business Administration Discipline
  • Experience supporting a Navy acquisition program office
  • US Navy Submarine experience
  • Experience with and knowledgeable of the Navy requirements and program office organizations and processes
