Overview
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for team members on their shift. They will work to safely plan, coordinate, train and motivate employees in order to offer the best products to our customers, while providing production personnel with continual process improvement support to ensure consistent quality of products.
2nd Shift Hours - 1:30pm - 10:30pm (Monday - Friday), OT Hours on Saturday when required - 9am - 2pm.

Responsibilities
- Maintains a good understanding of how the machines function and can troubleshoot when problems occur.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Works closely with the Plant Manager and other Shift Supervisors to direct and coordinate the activities of team members to meet production goals, while maintaining the highest level of quality in a time-sensitive environment.
- Works as a team to assemble and dismantle molds.
- Conducts mold changes using overhead cranes and rigging.
- Uses feedback from Trimmers inspecting product to drive process improvements to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
- Maintains safe and clean operations by adhering to safety procedures and company 6S requirements.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Utilizes computer programs, e.g., Kronos, SAP, ADP, to keep records of employees' attendance, hours-worked, efficiencies and other pertinent employee information.
- Understands the required paperwork on the machines.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform simple math and measurements.
- Ability to maintain a high attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
- Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders is required.
- Frequent use of hands and wrists on both large and small items: e.g., screws, bolts and nuts to service the molds.
- Ability to focus and work at a continuous pace for extended periods of time.
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
- Ability to mentor and develop direct reports and be willing to provide hands-on leadership.
- Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
- Possess strong safety practices and has the ability to impart safety awareness/practices within team.
- Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
Job Expectations
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Leadership experience required, ideally in a plastics shop preferred. Rotational Molding Experience is exceptional.
- Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment preferred.
Equipment Operated:
- Forklift, measurement devices, wrenches, screwdrivers and various other hand tools.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, varying temperature conditions between 60-100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, moving machinery parts, airborne particles, and fumes from production equipment.
