SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Coordinates the shipping process and ensures that packages are prepared for shipment in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

1. Coordinates the shipping of Merit's products from the warehouse by:
a. Overseeing the Shipping Clerks and making sure that information is correct on picking and packing slips;
b. Verifies the accuracy of the Shipping Clerk's work on a random basis to ensure that packages are being shipped correctly;
c. Pulling, picking, and packing orders for shipment and verifying information to avoid incorrect shipments;
d. Weighing packages and placing shipping labels on packages which correspond with the customers shipment method request.
2. Coordinates the organization and cleaning of the warehouse, and verifies that product packages are in their correct location.
3. Pulls and packs international product orders and coordinates with international shipping companies to ensure the delivery of international orders.
4. Pulls and packs sample orders for the Marketing and Sales Departments.
5. Works on special projects for the Warehouse Manager as needed.
6. Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Education equivalent to a High School diploma.
* Work related experience equivalent to two years of previous warehouse experience, with three months of warehouse supervisory experience preferred.
* Must be able to operate a forklift safely.
* Ability to be neat and organized and pay extreme attention to detail.
* Must be able to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
* Must possess strong interpersonal skills and work well with others.
* Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.

COMMENTS

Infectious Control Risk Category III:

The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs. Risk category III states employment and procedures that do not require exposure.
