| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is responsible for planning, implementing, prioritizing, administering, and maintaining the Environmental Services Program. This position is also responsible for assuring that all policies/procedures are implemented and followed accordingly. This position is also responsible for assuring all new and/or current staff receives training and re-training as required. This will include, but not be limited to, scheduling, discipline, work plans, goals, evaluations, quality audits, and training for continuous improvement. |
| Minimum Qualifications |
Graduation from High School or possession of a
GED, and one year of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Where applicable, must be eligible for required certification.

If employee is assigned to work in a designated security sensitive area, employee is required to undergo an extensive background check under the administration of the
ASU Police Department and complete a Security Awareness Training with updates as required.
This is a supervisory position, assisting in the direction of the Environmental Services program at
ASU.
- Determines housekeeping needs, prepares work schedules and individual work loads.
- Supervises assigned personnel in housekeeping activities.
- Includes the implementation of formal in-service training programs and APPA rated inspections for cleanliness.
- Reports maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.
- Work is reviewed through written reports, conferences and inspections.

| Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
- Knowledge of institutional housekeeping program management, including cleaning products and techniques.
- Working knowledge of personnel, purchasing procedures and practices.
- Ability to utilize time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Ability to assist management in planning, developing, implementing, and maintain an effective housekeeping program for the University.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality standards.
- Considerable knowledge of specific types of floor surfaces and methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning such surfaces. Skill in use and care of floor maintenance equipment.
- Ability to supervise a floor crew.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, AiM Time card and Work Order) required to maintain records and prepare required reports.
- Valid driver's license and Knowledge, skills and abilities to operate ASU vehicle.

Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills such as e-mail and supply ordering. Demonstrated proficiency in service area and the ability to train and/or advise others. Arrange for repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery, with appropriate follow up. Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe operation of a variety of small to medium size equipment and vehicles. Advanced skills to provide thorough inspections of all spaces. Documenting work orders when applicable. Customer Service: Anticipates customer, student, staff and faculty needs, and addresses and resolves promptly and respectfully. NIGHT SHIFT WORK HOURS:
8-hour workday schedule with primary hours varying within the following time frame: 3:30 pm - 12:00 midnight; Monday through Friday.
Weekend work and hours other than normal schedule may be required to accomplish assigned duties. Position is subject to call in, call back or stay over on off schedule hours and weekends should emergencies occur. This position will require weekend work for sporting events and other campus events. This position is also expected to work, as needed, in the event of staffing shortages, sporting events and/or other events on campus that require Building Environmental Service needs. Supervisor assignment may be adjusted based on business/operational need. This position is listed on
FIRST
CALL to report for any/all Environmental Services emergency situations, as needed.
Designated as
MANDATORY, this position is expected to be available for work during University emergencies, closings and adverse weather conditions. |

| Physical Demands of Position |
Physical efforts include lifting and moving all types of tables, chairs, chemicals and supplies, furniture, office and classroom equipment, ladders, trash and debris including snow and ice, cleaning equipment and floor equipment as required. Work can involve climbing ladders. At times, must be able to lift 50-100 pounds. Will need to be able to maneuver and set up heavy athletic equipment (ie: basketball goals, floor covers, volley ball / badminton equipment). |
