Crate Builder

Broadwind Industrial Solutions is a rapidly growing manufacturing company looking for a reliable Wood Crate Builder to join our first-shift team in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will build custom protective wooden crates, boxes, and skids used to safely ship our products. You may also assist with moving materials using a forklift.

• Crate Assembly: Cut, frame, and assemble lumber, plywood, and hardware into high-quality wooden shipping containers using pneumatic nail/staple guns, drills, and hand tools.
• Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to move raw lumber, finished crates, and heavy products across the warehouse floor and staging areas.
• Packing & Securing: Wrap, cushion, and brace large or fragile goods inside finished crates by strapping and blocking to eliminate transit movement.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret basic technical drawings, work orders, and custom dimensions to ensure precise builds.
• Quality & Regulations: Ensure finished crates match strict size specifications and comply standard guidelines

• Strong background in basic woodworking, industrial carpentry, or construction framing.
• Previous experience operating a forklift is highly preferred; certification or willingness to complete on-site certification is required.
• Ability to read a standard tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch and make basic cut math calculations.
• Ability to stand, bend, and work a full 8-hour shift, with physical capability to lift up to 50lbs independently.
• Dependable work ethic with a strict commitment to workplace safety protocols and proper PPE use.
