Job Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing production floor training programs within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role focuses on developing, delivering, and maintaining training content for direct labor employees while ensuring compliance with established manufacturing processes and quality standards. The position is heavily production floor-focused, requiring hands-on engagement in a cleanroom environment, data-driven analysis of training effectiveness, and collaboration with operations and leadership teams. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, structured training materials.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of new and updated training programs for production floor employees
- Work directly on the manufacturing floor to evaluate workflows, processes, and training effectiveness
- Develop job breakdown sheets and standardized training documentation for manufacturing processes
- Analyze training data, audit results, and operational performance metrics to identify trends and gaps
- Maintain training tracking systems, audit sheets, and dashboards to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Deliver small-group classroom and on-the-floor training sessions to production personnel
- Create presentations and reporting materials for leadership review
- Break down complex manufacturing processes (30-80 page procedures) into simplified, structured training modules and templates
- Support ongoing training program improvements and continuous process updates
- Conduct audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and management teams to align training with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom and production environment requirements, including gowning procedures and safety protocols
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Not an entry-level role; prior training, manufacturing, or project coordination experience required
- Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to identify trends and interpret operational data
- Intermediate Excel skills required (including pivot tables and data tracking)
- Strong project management or project coordination experience preferred
- Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data accurately
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to present information clearly to groups and leadership teams
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working on the production floor 40-50% of the time in a cleanroom environment
- Must comply with gowning requirements and production floor protocols
Work Experience
- Experience in training, instructional support, or training coordination required
- Experience in manufacturing, production, or technical environments preferred
- Experience developing training materials, job aids, or instructional documentation preferred
- Experience with project coordination or operational support strongly preferred
- Medical device or regulated industry experience is a plus but not required
