Summary Responsible for the successful marketing (sales, renewals, and/or service) of group and/or individual accounts for products as defined by production quotas within assigned territory. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales. Description
  • This position is hybrid, when not on the road the individual will have a seat at 4101 Percival Road Columbia, SC 29229. The hours are 8-5pm with occasional work before and after hours and occasional weekend events.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.

  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.

  • Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.

  • Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.

You Are Required To Have:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Required Work Experience: 1 year sales and marketing.

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers. Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace. Effective presentation and customer service skills. Analytical or critical thinking skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.

  • Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office.

  • Required License and Certificate: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.

We Prefer You To Have:

  • Preferred Work Experience: 3 years customer service, provider network.

  • Preferred Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of mathematical or statistical concepts.

  • Preferred Software and Tools: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.
