As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Specialist in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy hospital, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and site response activities. Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential hazards in varying working conditions.
• Serve in an armed post by maintaining authorized equipment in accordance with site policies and Allied Universal guidelines, while using sound judgment during routine duties and/or emergency situations.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, trespassing, theft, and/or disruption by following post orders, verifying credentials when required, and communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
