Job DescriptionThe Production Specialist is a hybrid position responsible for supporting the Instructional Design team and content matter experts in creating instructional content that is engaging, pedagogically effective, and ADA compliant. The role designs multimedia and XR learning objects for courses using best practices in instructional design and accessibility. Success in this position requires a positive attitude, commitment to the mission of the institution, continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence in customer service. Strong time management, clear communication regarding production needs, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders are essential.

The salary range for this position is $49,084- $53,592 annually.

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Essential Functions

Instructional Content Development
Collaborates with faculty, staff, and Instructional Designers to produce and edit instructional materials such as video, graphics, interactive media, and XR activities. Develops and edits guides, presentations, and handouts that engage learners and support instructional goals.

Collaboration & Communication
Works with geographically distributed stakeholders during the design, development, and implementation of new courses, course revisions, and XR content. Regularly updates project stakeholders on progress and provides recommendations based on instructional design theory and adult learning principles.

Project Management
Develops project plans, storyboards, and scripts. Supports course development schedules, meeting deadlines through effective workflow and communication. Collaborates on multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

Quality Assurance
Reviews learning content and multimedia with attention to accuracy, accessibility, and usability. Ensures compliance with ADA guidelines, instructional design principles, and adult learning theory.

Instructional Support & Assessment
Contributes to instructional solutions that encourage learner engagement and participation.

Technology & Equipment Management
Delivers, sets up, and maintains XR and production equipment. Provides troubleshooting and technical support to stakeholders as needed.

Training & Development
Assists with training sessions for faculty, staff, and instructional designers on production tools and methods. Stays current with developments in instructional technology, multimedia, and XR applications.

Operations & Inventory
Supports inventory management and ensures equipment is properly maintained for instructional use.

Education, Experience, & Skills

Required Qualifications

Three or more years of experience in instructional design, digital accessibility, video production, multimedia design, XR/AR/VR development, or 3D graphics.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Proficiency with authoring tools and multimedia software (e.g., HTML, XML, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline, CenarioVR, Lightboards, XR headsets, Hololens).

Experience with production equipment such as cameras, lighting, and audio/video technology.

Demonstrated ability in content production, graphics, and interactive media design.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience using email, chat, and video conferencing.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with accountability for project completion.

Professional demeanor, attention to detail, customer service focus, and solution-oriented mindset.

Familiarity with LMS (preferably Canvas) and video hosting platforms (Yuja, Kaltura, Panopto).

Ability to travel as needed for production and stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Moodle).

Note: Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, except where a specific credential is required for compliance or accreditation.
