Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an PHMS Engineering Technical Specialist, supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment Contract at AEDC in Arnold AFB, TN. The Technical Specialist will be working as a member of the Engineering Solutions branch responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The Engineering Solutions branch performs cutting edge technology development work in support of the National Defense Strategy.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will support the Chemical & Metallurgical Services group, ensuring the successful implementation of the PHMS Program requirements. Must have the ability and knowledge to help support PHMS efforts and coordinate Craft personnel supporting PHMS certifications, In-Service Inspections (ISI), & repair efforts. The candidate should have basic computer skills, understand the AEDC processes to obtain work permits, outage requests, etc. The working environment is highly dynamic and will require managing several different tasks simultaneously. Position will interface with work control, area supervisors, planners, varying craft groups, and engineers, so the ability to work well and effectively communicate with others is critical.

Job Duties:

    Walk down and assess pressure systems in support of In-Service Inspection PMs under the direction of the assigned PHMS engineer
  • Independently and under the direction of the PHMS engineer to coordinate, schedule, estimate, establish work orders, oversee, and report on project progress.
  • Cooperate with area supervisors and craft supervision for LOTO ensuring the system is safely de-energized
  • Coordinate/Report problems and/or findings to senior engineering staff and management
  • Inform the Ops Center of any downtimes\closures required to perform work
  • Interface and coordinate with NDE personnel for access and requirements
  • Monitor and report progress for own assigned work tasks to the project engineer and/or project control account manager (CAM)
  • A willingness to work a temporary altered schedule is mandatory due to the unpredictability of required test support.
  • Support the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Any equivalent combination of relevant vocational or other relevant education and/or training and specialized experience for a minimum total of ten (10) years; or Bachelor's degree in a non-technical field and eight (8) years of relevant or specialized experience.
  • Current U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish complex tasks required to coordinate and configure work efforts with various craft personnel.
  • Experience with AEDC specific systems and processes to include Enovia and OWAM
  • Experience with AEDC facilities and systems in test and plant areas.
  • Experience interpreting drawings, blueprints, and engineering documents
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and strong leader
  • Effective written and verbal communication
