HVAC Working Lead

Tessera is seeking an experienced and dedicated HVAC Working Lead with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Install, service, and repair environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system, using hand tools. Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to the power source; install air and water filters in the completed installation, inject a small amount of refrigerant into the compressor to test systems, and add Freon gas to build up the prescribed operating pressure. Responsible for supervising and coordinating technician activities. Responsible for completing all assigned tasks of an HVAC Technician and Boiler Tender, including all aspects of installations, diagnosis, service, and repair of environmental control heating and air-conditioning units. Responsible for completing required documentation, including training agendas, attendance records, scheduling, and reports. Responsible for documenting and reporting all quality control complaints. Responsible for ensuring safety procedures are adhered to in order to maintain an accident-free environment. Communicate with technicians, scheduler, and material coordinators throughout the repair processes to include scheduling the service, providing cost estimates, informing the customer of unexpected repairs, and determining customer satisfaction through surveys. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints. Ensure completed work meets quality control standards. Train new employees, assist in work assignments, set priorities, and evaluate employee performance. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and technicians. Assist QC with inspections of work to ensure quality control standards are met. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians. Communicate with a wide range of internal and external customers in an effective manner with tact and diplomacy. Lead team to learn assigned tasks and gain knowledge of the required abilities necessary to maintain workload Assist Quality Control and SSHO departments in training and inspections as needed Must wear PPE as required. Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
Qualifications:
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience required. Municipality of Anchorage mechanical license required. State of Alaska journeyman level mechanical license required. EPA 608 license required or must be able to obtain within 1 year. Alaska certificate of fitness required. Boiler Class 1 Certificate of fitness preferred.
Physical Requirements: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required. Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
