This is a Contract position until June 2027. This appointment may be extended or converted to career status based on the needs of the department. Consistently ranked among the top graduate theatre training programs in the country, UC San Diego's Department of Theatre & Dance offers undergraduate degrees, MFA degrees in Acting, Dance, Directing, Design (Costume, Lighting, Scenic, Sound), Stage Management, and Playwriting, and a PhD in Theatre and Drama. The Theatre & Dance department also shares a close relationship with the Tony Award winning La Jolla Playhouse, where MFA candidates are provided professional residencies. Under supervision, assist in the technical event management of the Department of Theatre and Dance facilities producing 15 events annually. Perform full duties for various recurring instructional and public events including set-up, operation, and strike of productions. Responsible for technical supervision, production and event logistics for 15 recurring events annually. Duties also include assisting or facilitating the maintenance and repair of production equipment at the Mandell Weiss Shops and the Department of Theatre and Dance facilities. Assist with all produced events as needed, including work calls, set-up and strike. Responsible for audience and crew safety related to personal injury prevention and adherence to fire regulations. Must work a varying schedule. Programming in the facility necessitates a different work schedule each week, including evenings and weekends. Must have reliable transportation.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $60,300 - $103,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $49.76 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
