ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

TES is looking for a Front Desk Administrator to support Medical Center Operations.

Duration: This assignment is anticipated to last 5-6 months.

Compensation and Benefits: $29.18 - $30.94/hour. Eligible for Mid-level Medical Benefits, Vacation, Sick, and Holiday pay.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30A - 6:00P.

Location: 100% onsite in Encinitas.

DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Radiation Therapy Manager, the Administrative Receptionist is responsible for a variety of clerical duties in support of daily patient services within clinical areas; Answer all clinic calls using the UCSD Ambulatory Care scripted greeting and follow telephone guidelines. Triage all calls and transfer to appropriate staff.

Responsible for customer service, greets arriving patients for their appointments, oversees all aspects of registration, insurance verification, collects Co-payments and makes deposits daily. Coordinates appointments disposition and confirms patient appointments. Serves as a liaison for physicians, nurses and other Radiation Oncology staff. Uses multiple computer systems simultaneously. Other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Possess proven knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.

  • Strong proficient computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems.

  • Solid problem solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.

  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision. A person who is open to new ideas and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with patient admissions/registration.

  • Experience working with various computer programs, including EPIC.

  • Experience working in Radiation Oncology, Oncology, or any cancer-related clinic setting.

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and Requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as Required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the Required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
