Job Description

What is the opportunity?
The Senior Communications Specialist for RBC Wealth Management - U.S. will help drive strategic communications initiatives that support critical business priorities through the development and execution of compelling communications for internal and external audiences. This role supports firm-wide initiatives that enhance employee engagement and strengthen brand positioning within the financial services industry.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with business partners to develop and execute internal and external communications plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Research, write and proofread internal and external communications, such as intranet articles, email messages, talking points, press releases and social media posts.
  • Assist with media relations, press release development, compliance reviews and coordination of media engagements.
  • Track campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, and business impact to refine communication approach.
  • Support special projects such as organizational change communications, initiative launches, brand campaigns, and cultural programs that require creative planning and cross-departmental coordination.
  • Stay up to date with media landscape and industry developments and help generate new ideas for audience engagement.

What do you need to succeed?

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of professional communications experience
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and mediums
  • Ability to translate business objectives into communications approaches
  • Strong problem solving/critical thinking capability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong team player who can work effectively across multiple teams

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the securities industry, financial markets and related terminology
  • Agency experience

The expected salary range for this particular position is $55,000-$95,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
