JOB DESCRIPTION
The Plating Supervisor will, supervise staff in the waste
water, plating, lube, cleaning departments, chemical lab, and heat treat. Plan,
organize, and administer overall quality of product and production levels.
Responsible for the evaluation and disposition of rejects and corrective
actions. Perform a wide range of administrative duties, coordinate with
operations and personnel to ensure efficient and profitable operations and help
achieve company goals and objectives. Main responsibilities will be employee
relations, quality, productivity, cost improvement and performance
measurements. Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures,
recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, procedures and
conditions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervise
and assure that quality control measures are at an acceptable level and are
consistent with company QA manual.
* Establish
and maintain product flow throughout the department in accordance with
production control priorities.
* Assure
overall quality of product and evaluation and disposition of rejects are in
concurrence with Quality Assurance Manager and Product Mangers.
* Supervise
the maintenance and replacement of all plating and cleaning solutions and
equipment in the facility.
* Perform
administrative functions including overall personnel policies and procedures.
* Responsible
for requisitions of all supplies for the area.
* Troubleshoot
problems and implement corrective actions.
* Implement
quality control methods and processes to support quality planning.
* Develop
and test new methods related to Dry Film Lube and plating and also institute
and maintain documentation and control systems for all plating and cleaning
processes.
* Enforce
safety regulations that affect the department.
* Consistently
meet production standards, complete performance appraisals, disciplinary
actions, establish training procedures and introduce new personnel to proper
procedures and policy.
* Direct
all lube, plating, cleaning, chemical lab, waste water treatment system, and
heat treat personnel.
* Coordinate
all waste water and treating processes and ensure we comply with all Laws and
regulations, county, state and federal.
* Plan,
schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders and
meet inventory requirements.
* Improve
working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase
subordinates' skills and capabilities through activity plans.
* Ensures
effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes
employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
* Balances
quality, productivity, cost, and safety to achieve positive results in all
areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
* Manages
departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides
regular progress to manager.
* Performs
accident investigations, maintains proper inventory levels, manages department
priorities, tracks absenteeism and time-keeping and is responsible for all
other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies, procedures and applicable laws.
* Responsibilities
include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Supervises
the shop floor through group leaders.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Commerce, CA location.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able
to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Basic
knowledge of acid/base chemistry and of chemical safety
- Knowledgeable
in Nadcap requirements and audit preparation.
- Understand
basic principles of electroplating
- Comprehend
safety data sheets and technical bulletins
- Must
understand and comply with hazardous materials and hazardous waste regulations
- Ability
to train and direct employees on the spill response team
- Maintain
production, safety and environmental records
- Proficient
in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
EXPERIENCE:
- Requires
minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role
- Requires
a minimum 5 years in a plating environment
- Requires
broad technical and administrative experience in a manufacturing plating
environment
- Thorough
knowledge of all plating methods, techniques, and related equipment.
- Must
be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Must
be able to measure performance to goals and standards.
- Must
have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
- Must
be extremely organized.
- Able
to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span, analyze problems and come up
with solutions, manage inventory, pay attention to the details.
- Ability
to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability
to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must
have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written
communication skills, including group presentations.
- Ability
to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory
agencies, or members of the business community.
This role involves access to technical data and/or hardware subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In order to comply with these laws, employment is contingent upon verifying your status as a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. * 120.15, or obtaining any required government authorization.
Compensation
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $115,000 - $134,000.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
