| Primary Description of Work |
The Business System Analyst serves as the Human Resources Information Systems (
HRIS) Manager, a critical strategic and operational partner within the Office of Human Resources, reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Human Resources Officer. This position is responsible for managing HR data systems, leading reporting and analytics functions, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of workforce data. The position has responsibility for the Banner HR module and related systems.
The position collaborates with all Human Resources functional areas, including classification and compensation, employee relations, leave administration, and provides support to Benefit Shared Services in benefits-related data-driven decision-making, compliance, and operational efficiency. While this role is highly technical, it requires a foundational understanding of Human Resources practices, policies, and processes to accurately interpret data and report workforce information.

| Work Schedule and hours |
This position is
100% onsite. Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, the employee may choose an alternative work schedule within the on-site requirement. Additional hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities, meet deadlines, or support operational needs. |

| Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience, or Master's and 1-2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with HRIS administration and foundational knowledge of HR processes and data structures.
- Experience in the UNC System
- Experience with additional HR technologies, PeopleAdmin, Canvas, Laserfiche (e.g., recruiting systems, learning management systems, and performance management systems)
- Experience diagnosing and resolving technical integration issues across enterprise systems, vendor interfaces, and automated data feeds.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support system initiatives, process improvements, and policy workflow enhancements.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities, with a track record of successfully meeting deadlines in a challenging environment.
- Commitment to ethical stewardship of confidential and sensitive information
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to support end users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with Banner HR Module, Banner Security, Dynamics Forms, Formstack, Argos, and Power BI.
- Basic knowledge of SQL queries.

- Ability to provide leadership and collaboration within a team-oriented environment, fostering positive working relationships across departments.
- Strong functional knowledge of HR operations, including HR, benefits, payroll, and recruiting workflows.
